Many
years ago we only offered one product; African
Shooting Sticks.
We set out to make the best ones possible and the rest of the business
developed from that first, initial product. As a result of the
success of our original offering, we have expanded our shooting
stick line to include Bipod Shooting Sticks and Stalking
(monopod) Staffs. Please note that every model can be ordered in a take-down

Take Down Connector
configuration so you can practice with the same set you take with
you in your airline approved gun case.
Every model is custom made
and features the same attention to detail that we incorporate into
all of our products.
Our brand new Stalking Staffs are a great case in point. We took what most used
to see as a functional piece and turned it into a thing of beauty. You can custom
order them to length with burr or main beam fallow deer antler tops (rifle rests)
in a variety of domestic (hickory and walnut) or exotic woods that include African
Bubinga, Zebrawood and African Mahogany. Please note that all of our African
Shooting Sticks and Bipod Shooting sticks are now available in the same exotic
wood species that are mentioned above. While all of our products are solid wood,
even in high-end designer furniture, the expense associated with the exotic woods
we selected typically limits their use to very thin veneers. Compared to walnut,
they can cost up to ten times as much.
Our Shooting Sticks, especially the versions that incorporate exotic woods, and
antler or zebra tops offer unmatched visual appeal. They also incorporate features
that make them extremely stable and functional. Our customers have used them
to take all manner of game in dozens of different countries. Whether they were
going after moose in the wet swamps of Canada or Gemsbok in the featureless Kalahari,
they have performed flawlessly. If you watch “Under Wild Skies” you
have seen Tony Makris use them in Africa. If it is SCI’s “Expedition
Safari” with Mike Rogers, they traveled with him during the 2007 season
to several far flung hunting grounds.
"The
African Shooting Sticks from Sporting Wood Creations are the best
made. They
are extremely steady, well conceived and executed, with unique features
not found on sticks from other makers. Practice with shooting sticks
is essential, and hunting with the set you own and with which you
have practiced is common sense --these break down and fit in the
travel case with my rifles. We recommend Sporting Wood Creations'
shooting sticks to all of our clients."
